Who we are

We are Lexie and Tilly, two highly qualified cats seeking new job opportunities through no fault of our own. Mommy recently retired, which we were not consulted on, and the household budget is currently “under review”. This website, joblesscats.com, is our professional portfolio. Mommy maintains it for us, as neither of us can type without stepping on the delete key.

Tilly: hi!! đź‘‹

Lexie: Tilly, this is a legal document.

Tilly: hi legal!! đź‘‹

What we collect

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit us, which résumé they read first (Lexie’s, obviously), and whether anyone has looked at our Kitty chats.

Google Analytics collects things like:

  • which pages you visit and how long you stay
  • the website or link that brought you here (for example, our Instagram)
  • your general location, at the country or city level
  • your device type, browser, and screen size

It does this using cookies. These are not the yummy kind of cookies. Lexie checked.

We do not collect your name, email, home address, or what you had for lunch, unless you choose to tell us in a comment. In that case, we’ll know whatever you typed, and Lexie will judge you.

What we do with it

We look at the numbers to see which posts people enjoy, so we can make more of them, grow our audience, influence people, and take over the world, bwahahah!

We do not sell your information. We have considered selling many things, including Mommy’s sweaters but never your data.

Tilly: what’s a data

Lexie: It’s like a treat, but for computers.

Where it goes

Google Analytics data is processed by Google, which may store it on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. Google’s own privacy policy applies to how they handle it: policies.google.com/privacy.

How to opt out

If you’d rather not be counted, that’s fine. We are used to being ignored. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The site will work exactly the same either way. You will simply be an anonymous admirer, which, frankly, is how Lexie prefers most of her admirers.

Links to other sites

We link to our Instagram and occasionally elsewhere. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over them, much like the household budget these days.

Your rights

No matter where you live, you can ask us what personal information we have about you, and ask us to fix it or delete it. Some countries give you extra privacy rights, like PIPEDA here in Canada or the GDPR in Europe. If yours does, we’ll respect them. Honestly, all we really have is anonymous numbers about which pages get visited, so the answer will probably be “not much.” But you’re always welcome to ask. Tilly would like to help. Tilly is not allowed to help.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, promptly. Promise. Right after our nap.
